Sacramental Preparation
To be Christian and enter into God’s covenant of salvation, we need the Sacraments of Initiation, beginning with Baptism.  Persons wishing baptism (for their children) need to call the parish office (3) months prior to the preferred time to receive the Sacrament.  Families must be registered with the parish in which the baptism will occur or a letter from their pastor needs to be sent to the parish in advance of the celebration. Please see below for the covenant for next year’s preparation.

Catholics follow Christ’s teaching (John 6: 22-69) to consume His Body and Blood in the Eucharist.  Reception of this Sacrament requires a 2-year sacramental preparation process by attending our Sunday Catechetical Program and regular attendance of Mass for two years leading up to the celebration.  Those wishing to receive the Eucharist in First Holy Communion need to contact Barbara or the Parish Office.

Those who were baptized as infants should receive the Sacrament of Confirmation when they are mature enough and desire the Sacrament for him/herself.   This is a 2-year preparation process. Please see below for the covenant for next year’s preparation.  For more information, please contact Barbara or the Parish Office.

Baptism Preparation
Parents requesting the Sacrament for their infant must be registered parishioners, regularly attending Mass and supporting their parish as good stewards of time, talent, and treasure.  If not yet registered, the Sacrament will be celebrated after 3 months of active membership.

First  Communion Preparation
The “Source and Summit” of our sacramental faith lies in the Eucharist that Jesus Christ left us before His Passion and Death.  In obedience to His Command, “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the Flesh of the Son of Man and drink His Blood, you shall not have life within you” (John 6: 53), we receive the Eucharist beginning with First Holy Communion.  Baptized adults who have not already received this Sacrament should enter into our R.C.I.A. Program.  Please contact Deacon Jim Johnson at 843/665-0713 or Deacon Robert Gerald.

Parents of children wishing to receive the Sacrament need to register their child in our Sunday catechetical program.  Reception of this Sacrament requires two years of religious education.  To begin this process, please contact Barbara at the Parish Office.
